Mackenzie Browne and Dominique Abbott, senior teammates at JW North High in California, placed second and eighth, respectively, in the girls 800-meter final at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Browne clocked 2:08.06 and Abbott ran 2:10.25, in addition to contributing to JW North finishing third in the 4x400-meter relay final in 3:45.90.
